歐提茲一直以來對於媒體、球迷都十分友善，但今天休息室瀰漫低氣壓，連老爹臉上常見的笑容都消失了，他說，「我們被慘電，這沒什麼好慶祝的。」
歐提茲今天4打數無安打，這兩戰8打數僅1安，老爹今年季末就將退休，如果紅襪再不振作，歐提茲的生涯恐怕就此結束，不過歐提茲仍有信心，「我知道我們表現的應該比這更好，所以接下來我們會打得更好。」
對紅襪來說，優勢在於接下來將回到主場芬威球場，歐提茲表示，「沒有退路了，我們現在要回家，而且要打得更好、投得更好。」
