國民黨遭逢困境，洪秀柱下午在中常會表示，將邀4位前黨主席連戰、吳伯雄、馬英九、朱立倫明天會面研商。馬英九辦公室第一時間表示，因明天另有早已安排的行程，無法出席。
不過，馬英九辦公室晚間表示，洪秀柱傍晚親自來電，請馬英九能出席明天的會議。馬英九為避免外界見縫插針，已決定排開原定行程，明天前往黨中央開會。
馬英九辦公室說，洪秀柱在電話中也答應馬英九，為了彰顯黨的團結，馬英九於10月24日晚間邀請其任內副主席及重要幹部共商如何協助黨渡過難關的餐會，洪秀柱一定會出席，也感謝馬英九的安排。1051019
